LECTURES
Week 7
During this week, Mr. Hafiz gave some briefing about the next assignment. We were instructed to create an animated album cover of the artist, Frank Sinatra. There were 5 songs that we can choose. We need to hear the chosen song and understand the lyrics. Then, we were required to sketch initial ideas, figure out storyline, illustrate, compose and animate a 'moment' base of our understanding of the song. This 'moment' will be the album cover. Illustrated typography must be included. Foreground, mid ground and background must be considered and illustrated.
Here are the recommended size for the artwork:

Week 9
This week Mr. Hafiz showed us how to use Pencil tools in Adobe Illustrator, it is one of the most versatile and most commonly used tool in Adobe Illustrator, especially for freehand drawing.
We were also introduced to Type tools which is a tool that will allow us to add text to our design. This tool is very useful for creating dynamic designs.
Week 10
Mr.Hafiz briefed us regarding 2D intertwine, as well as blending mode and envelope distortion.
2D intertwine example:
Assignment 1 Fly Me To The Moon
The song that I chose was 'Girl From Ipanema'
Research:
The song was inspired by Heloísa Eneida Menezes Paes Pinto (now known as Helô Pinheiro), a seventeen-year-old girl living on Montenegro Street in Ipanema. Daily, she would stroll past the Veloso bar-café, not just to the beach ("each day when she walks to the sea"), but in the everyday course of her life.
Reference:
This album cover portray a girl which characteristic match with the lyrics of the song: "Tall and tan and young and lovely". The side looking profile describes the lyric of the song: "When she passes, I smile but she doesn't see". The beach background and the color palette emphasize the romantic and bright nature of the songs.
For the next part, I began animating the album cover. Here is the result:
Animating the album cover was both a challenging and rewarding experience. It required me to blend creativity with technical skills, and I found myself deeply immersed in the project from start to finish. I was particularly excited about the opportunity to bring a static image to life and explore how animation can enhance visual storytelling.
This assignment significantly improved my proficiency in animation software and techniques. I gained a better understanding of keyframe animation, motion graphics, and the importance of smooth transitions. The project also enhanced my ability to interpret and convey the mood of visual and audio elements cohesively.
Reflecting on this project, I’m pleased with my progress and the skills I’ve developed. Animating the album cover was a valuable experience that challenged me creatively and technically. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned to future projects and continue evolving as an animator.
