INSTRUCTIONS

JOURNAL ARTICLE DRAFT

Before starting the article, I watched a lecturer’s video that explained how to turn the dissertation into a publication-ready paper. I noted key guidelines: the article should list myself and my supervisor as authors, use our respective academic emails, and have abstracts and introductions of no more than 200 words each. The introduction should introduce the topic without the problem statement, while the problem statement must include objectives and research questions. The methodology should be concise (max 500 words) and justified, findings and discussion limited to 650 words, and the conclusion capped at 500 words while addressing research limitations. References should only include cited sources, appendices can follow the dissertation format, and a relevant image should be included.

After that, I began writing my draft:

FINAL JOURNAL ARTICLE PUBLICATION

For the final version, I used the KREATE template. I made some improvement to the wrting and added some supporting figures. I also fixed the format of my picture credit using the APA format.

REFLECTION

Completing the Design Research Dissertation module has been a valuable learning experience. Throughout this process, I learned how to structure academic research, from defining a clear topic and problem statement to organizing literature, designing methodology, and presenting findings effectively. The module helped me understand the importance of planning, following academic guidelines, and translating a dissertation into a publishable article. I also developed stronger skills in critical analysis, time management, and academic writing. Overall, this module not only prepared me to complete my dissertation successfully but also gave me the confidence to handle future research and publication opportunities.
